Google has officially announced the Google Pixel 8 and Google Pixel 8 Pro. Through the special event that is currently taking place live on YouTube, the company has finally revealed its two new flagships.
The big card for Google this year is the new Tensor G3 chipset based on the 4mm architecture, which features a nine-core processor, a single Prime core Cortex-X3, four Cortex-A715s, as well as four more Cortex-A510s. The company stated that it is four times better than the chipset that had, for example, the Pixel 6.
As for RAM, the regular Pixel 8 continues to have 8GB, while anyone who chooses to get the Pixel 8 Pro will see 12GB of RAM. Both devices support IP68 and are dust and water resistant. You will also be able to unlock the phones with your face, but you are also given the option of a fingerprint.
The Pixel 8 has a 6.2-inch Full HD+ screen and is 10 grams lighter than its predecessor, while reaching up to 2,000 nits at maximum brightness and finally supporting a 120Hz refresh rate. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus.
The Pixel 8 Pro has a larger screen at 6.7 inches and is a QHD+ LTPO OLED that also supports 120Hz refresh rate. Also, in the Pro model we have more nits of brightness since it has now reached 2,400, while the screen is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
One of the most important features on Pixel phones is without a doubt their cameras. As for the Pro model, here you will find three cameras, with the central lens being 50MP (Octa-PD-phase-detect autofocus) with optical image stabilization. There is also a new lens at 48MP Quad-PD ultrawide and also a 48MP Quad-PD that offers 5x zoom and can reach 30X with Super-Res digital zoom. The front camera is 10.5MP with a wide field of view.
On the back of the Pixel 8 Pro you’ll also find a new skin temperature sensor (Melexis MLX90632) and its sole purpose is to read your temperature. The photos of the new Pixels go to another level with AI and Google Photos, and the company has brought – and upgraded – many new features such as Photo Unblur, Magic Eraser, Best Take and Macro Focus.
On the other hand, the Pixel 8 offers a new ultrawide camera, but it’s not the same as the one on the Pro. The main lens is also at 50MP Octa-PD with 8x Super-Res digital zoom, while there is also a selfie at 10.5MP.

The Pixel 8 has a large battery at 4,575mAh and charges with 27W wired and 18W wireless. The Pro model has an even bigger battery, since it reaches 5,050mAh with 30W wired charging and 23 wireless charging.
The Pixel 8 Pro will be released in three different colors, Blue, Obsidian and Beige and its price starts from 1,099 euros, while the Pixel 8 in Hazel, Obsidian and Rose colors costs 799 euros depending on the storage space you choose in both . Google promises 7 years with upgrades, which is very important for all users.
