What do you need to repair a broken power button on Nexus One. Flex Ribbon Cable

When I bought my Nexus One, one year ago I did not think of anyalternatives to it. The phone ran fast, the display is amazing, itgot first the Android Froyo version, in other words I was sure thatI bought a perfect mobile phone. However, It is after one year thatI realize that HTC and Google did not create this phone for thepeople who want to own it for longer. The power button on the NexusOne is by far the worst type of button I have ever seen on a mobiledevice. It does not matter how you press it, it will get brokenanyway. The problem is that they have used a so called flex ribboncable, that if used many times, stops to work. Actually this typeof problem has made a lot of people owning the Nexus One to believein HTC anymore. Moreover, the support at HTC is awful. They have a policy called”all-repair”, so if you send your device for having its powerbutton repaired, but your display is also a little bit damaged, then HTC will not repair only the power button, but they willcharge you for repairing the display as well. Or you can get yourdevice back, by paying the $25 examination fee. If you only have torepair the power button, it costs $55 at HTC.So, if you don’t want to send your device to HTC or if yourwarranty expired, the only thing you can do is either use the blackmethods of powering your device (plugging in to a source and thentaking out the battery and put it back, so the device will reboot),or repair it by yourself.Repairing the power button by yourself should not be verydifficult, but you need to actually find/buy the whole motherboardand change it in your device. I have checked many stores online, where the motherboard used to be sold, but now most of them showthat this item is out of stock.Check out this Google link with all results.
