The “Only Murders in the Building” actress stopped at the school while attending a film festival in Telluride, Colorado.
After the high school in Colorado made a public appeal for Selena Gomez to visit, the actress paid them a visit.
The “Only Murders in the Building” actress unexpectedly dropped by a girls’ volleyball match at Telluride High School when she was in Telluride, Colorado, for the yearly Telluride Film Festival.
The school’s female volleyball team had sent a flyer across the community requesting that Gomez perform the National Anthem during either the Friday night or Saturday afternoon match.
Gomez wrote, “They asked!!” after she posted the poster and the meet-and-greet on social media. I couldn’t resist; this is the first time
She also posted a video and pictures from her visit with the students.
She shook hands and gave a hug to the enthusiastic gathering, saying, “I had to come because I saw the sign.”
The actress, 32, was present at the Telluride Film Festival to promote her next movie, “Emilia Perez,” in which she co-stars with Zoe Saldaña.
The movie, which combines humor, drama, and song, was filmed in Spanish. In May, it was greeted with an 11-minute standing ovation at Cannes.
In response to Gomez’s tweet of her volleyball visit, Saldaña commented, “The kindest heart indeed.”
Benny Blanco, a song producer and Gomez’s boyfriend, also complimented the celebrity in a comment that included three hearts.
Recently, Blanco revealed to Howard Stern his desire to wed Gomez and start a family.
Gomez expressed her admiration for Blanco’s capacity to drown out the ruckus made by her followers.
Gomez said, “I know what people can do to people I love,” to Time. “The most damaging things about my life are spoken to me by my own fans, who I admire and believe have formed who I am. However, he possesses such power that he is unfazed by the ruckus. It’s just amazing, and I genuinely treasure every second we spend together. He’s not going anywhere anytime soon, even if I have no idea what the future holds.”
